XIII is a dedicated artist and growing system whose organic and otherworldly paintings and illustrations aim to blur the lines between our waking, subconscious and manufactured realities.

Being born in the spring, XIII embodies the concept of death and rebirth. Finding inspiration in the flowers that bloom from April showers, XIII conveys messages of hope and wonder, through vivid, feminine, and often mystical imagery. The works are most often created through the use of acrylic paints, foils and glitters, or by utilizing digital programs, such as Procreate or Photoshop.

“Creating artwork is an escape, a personal language, and a way to survive. It has been a spiritual gateway that provides an opportunity for self-reflection and reprogramming. XIII holds a passion for using art as a tool for bringing people to understanding and challenging thought.”

With the desire to pursue drawing and fashion at a young age, XIII would choose to major in Visual Arts studies at The Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, and would go on to win scholarships and study animation and illustration at Daemen University. Throughout their schooling, XIII worked as a freelance illustrator, designer and painter.

XIII has had works featured in numerous galleries and art spaces around Western New York, including the Burchfield Penney Art Center, C. Stuart and Jane H. Hunt Gallery, the Buffalo History Museum, Pine Apple Company, and Princessa’s Studio and Art Gallery, and has permanent mural installations in Niagara Falls, Buffalo, and Irving, New York.

XIII has worked in the area for several years and hopes to expand her creative reach across a variety of realms.
